Dr. Kary E. Harris is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Ruby Harris. He is the fifth of eight children. He is a native of Atlanta, Georgia.
A true man of God, Pastor Harris led the flock of Southside Springfield Missionary Baptist Church of Atlanta, Georgia and Knox Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Social Circle, Georgia. In 2005 he was called to lead the Union Baptist Church of Buford, GA.
Pastor Harris received his Bachelor of Theology Degree from Anchor Theological Seminary, Texarkana, Arkansas (August 1992) and his Master of Theology Degree from Anchor Theological Seminary, Texarkana, Arkansas (May 1997). Pastor Harris also holds a Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Emmanuel Bible College Theological Seminary (May 1997).
In May of 2009, Pastor Harris received an Honorary Doctorate of Humanity Degree from Carolina Christian University. In addition, he earned a Doctorate of Philosophy in Clinical Christian Counseling Psychology in May 2009.
He recently began his tenure as the President of the Madison Missionary Baptist Association Congress of Christian Education. He is also the 3rd Vice Moderator of the Madison Missionary Baptist Association.
His civic and professional activities include many organizations in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. He is the President & CEO of Exodus Outreach, Inc. This non-profit 501(c)(3) organization assists in sponsoring and promoting educational and community events.
This visionary leader is involved in a wide variety of organizations including: The NAACP, The Madison Missionary Baptist Association, Appalachee/Morgan County Baptist Association, Georgia Missionary Baptist Convention U.S.A. Inc., The National Baptist Convention U.S.A. Inc., Chaplain, Atlanta Police Department, Chaplain, Hall County Police Department, Association Chiefs of Police, and Nationally Known Evangelists.
Pastor Harris is a devoted man of God, a loving husband to Mrs. Jayme B. Harris, and father of two sons
